What the Lyon City Card Includes

The tourist office’s list, sorted by how much each line matters to an actual visit, with the fine print kept in.

The two inclusions that carry it

Unlimited TCL transport: metro, trams, buses and both Fourvière funiculars, on zones 1 and 2. One exclusion worth knowing: the Navigône river shuttle is not covered. One rule worth bolding: validate at first use and at every connection, or the ticket isn’t valid. The office says so plainly. And no TCL runs on May 1.

Then the 26 museums, temporary exhibitions included. The flagship trio: the Confluences in its cloud of steel where the rivers meet, the Beaux-Arts on Terreaux, and Gadagne in a Renaissance mansion in Vieux Lyon. Lugdunum’s Roman museum by the theatres covers the ancient side.

The experiences layer

A guided old-town tour with one of the office’s own guides; book your slot early in the card window. A seasonal Saône cruise, included in winter with seasonal terms in summer (their shop page carries the current arrangement, and a bus tour substitutes by season). The unusual one: a rooftops tour above the vaults of Fourvière’s basilica. Plus Mini World with queue-skip, the planetarium, Guignol puppet shows and a silk-weaving demonstration. An airport-transfer version with Rhônexpress exists at checkout if you want the ride from Saint-Exupéry folded in.

What stays outside

Lyon’s food. The bouchons, the tastings, the food walks that define the city for many visitors all book separately, and honestly work better as evening products anyway.
